Wits Business School
Part of the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa, Wits Business School is notable for its variety of postgraduate degree programs. With a main campus in Parktown, Johannesburg, the school offers a modern, dynamic learning environment to its students, taking its inspiration from the design of the Harvard Business School campus.
Students at Wits Business School have access to an extensive Management Library, and the continent’s largest Case Study Center, which contains over 250 real-world business cases for students to cut their teeth on.
The school’s MBA program is reviewed for re-accreditation every five years by the Association of MBAs (AMBA).
Sun Yat-sen Business School
One of only three business schools in mainland China, Sun Yat-sen Business School offers internationally renowned business education to both domestic and international students. The school has been triple accredited by EQUIS, AMBA and AACSB, and is frequently included in international business school rankings.
The business school is partnered with over 80 international institutions, which allows it to offer collaborative learning experiences and student exchange programs. Students also benefit from long-running partnerships with industry leaders and global employers, including IBM, Allianz Group and Coca-Cola.
Pacifico Business School
Located in the city of Lima in Peru, Pacifico Business School is one of the top study destinations for postgraduate business education in the Latin America region. With an academic program that’s focused on providing extensive training and academic excellence to its students, the school is a regular feature of international rankings.
The school is part of Universidad del Pacífico which was established in 1962. The university has been teaching degrees in management and economics since the late 1960s, and says within its mission statement that it “produces entrepreneurial leaders with dedication to service and committed to building a fair society”.
Gatton College of Business and Economics
Part of the University of Kentucky in the US, the Gatton College of Business and Economics can trace its origins back to 1925 when the university founded a College of Commerce. A range of undergraduate and postgraduate business degrees are offered by the college, focused primarily on business, economics and accounting.
The college is housed within the Gatton Business and Economics Building, which has been recently renovated as part of a $65 million project. The work, completed in 2016, added new classrooms, student assembly spaces and an auditorium.
The University of Kentucky is the largest university in the state by enrolment, with over 30,500 students. The university strives for a diverse cohort, with a high number of out-of-state students. While most students live on campus (there are 23 residence halls in total), the city of Lexington where the university and business school are based is well worth exploring.
Hong Kong Baptist University, School of Business
The Hong Kong Baptist University’s School of Business has been offering business education for over 50 years. The school is among the top one percent of the world’s business schools to be accredited by the leading three international accreditation bodies (AACSB, AMBA, EQUIS) and has also been featured in global business school rankings.
Students at the business school have access to cutting-edge facilities, including a Bloomberg laboratory that enables students to experience one of the most powerful technology systems used by finance professionals across the world to monitor and analyse real-time financial data. The school also offers students access to a Datastream laboratory, a Behavioral Research laboratory, and a Simulated Trading laboratory.
Goethe Business School
Part of the Goethe University in Frankfurt, the Goethe Business School was first established in 2004. It offers an extensive selection of business programs for young professionals and executives, including some part-time programs which can be studied alongside work.
The school focuses its teaching on six key topics: Finance Management, Bank Management, Risk Management & Regulation, Leadership & Personal Development, Strategic Management and Corporate Social Responsibility. This focus is reflected in the curriculum and course content for the various degrees available to students.
The school is also notable for its China Executive Education Center, which educates executives specifically from Chinese financial institutions in different topic areas, enabling them to connect with business leaders in Europe.
DCU Business School, Dublin City University
DCU Business School describes itself as one of the most dynamic young business schools in Europe, highlighting its small class sizes, responsive curriculum and high levels of industry engagement. The school has been recognized for accreditation by AACSB.
Undergraduate, postgraduate, online and executive degree options are all available to study at Dublin City University’s Business School. Students benefit from studying in a city which is fast-becoming one of the top European hubs for various industries, including technology, pharmacology, financial services, and life sciences.
The school has a well-established alumni network of over 20,000 graduates and its students are highly employable with 98 percent of graduates in the workplace within six months of graduation. The school’s staff have also won €8 million in research grants in recent years, demonstrating the school’s focus on research-led education.
MLV - Management School
EMLV - or to give the school its full name the Ecole de Management Léonard De Vinci - is a business school located within the main business district in Paris, one of the world’s top student cities. Accredited by the French government and recognized at a European level by ENQA, the school offers a progressive five-year study program with opportunities for specialization and industry experience contained within it.
The school provides consulting services to established business partners, enabling students to gain real-life business experience through exposure to actual business cases. International students are welcomed to the school through various exchange programs and EMLV students are also encouraged to participate in study abroad programs. This combination of global experience and real-world exposure mean EMLV students are well-prepared for the global business workplace.
The highest proportion of EMLV graduates go on to work in finance, insurance and financial management, while auditing, consulting and media are also popular career paths.
Thammasat Business School
Thammasat Business School can trace its history back to 1938, making it the second-oldest business school in Thailand. The school offers an extensive selection of business degrees, including programs focused on logistics, international business, finance, marketing, and real estate management. As well as a four-year bachelor’s degree, the school offers a five-year program which combines both bachelor’s and master’s degrees into one program of study.
The school is notable for offering Thailand’s first English-taught international business program, and also holds Triple Crown accreditation (from EQUIS, AMBA and AACSB), something only one percent of business schools around the world have achieved.
Thammasat University is one of the most selective in Thailand with a very competitive admissions process.
National University of Ireland Galway
The National University of Ireland Galway was first established in 1845 and initially opened to teach just 68 students. Today, it’s home to over 17,000 students taught across four colleges:
- College of Arts, Social Sciences and Celtic Studies
- College of Business, Public Policy and Law
- College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences
- College of Science and Engineering
Notably, the university has special statutory responsibility for the Irish language to be a working language of the university and the university has two student societies dedicated to the Irish language: An Cumann Gaelach and An Cumann Drámaíochta. The university is also an active participant in Seachtain na Gaeilge, an annual celebration of the Irish language.
Over 12 percent of students at the university are classified as international and the university regularly features in the QS World University Rankings.
